Focus: 9th Wonder (some Hip Hop for the Soul)

Some good ass hip hop beats for the soul. 9th Wonder is a producer aka beat maker and is a steady stream of ill tracks that soothe the soul. Doper than a Colombian drug cartel, his thick beats make even me want to spit some lines off the dome. But obviously, I can't so, oh well.

99/100
I've got to admit that I like this more than the original. Makes me want to ride away on a long board to nowhere in particular.
98/100
Good fat beat, and Drake always kills it.

100/100
You this doesn't make you drop your panties, then you are probably deaf. No disrespect to the deaf, but I'm just sayin'. Errr, communicating. Slash its Musiq Soulchild. So its gotta be super smooth.

100/100
Nothing like a 9th beat to just chill out to. Whether you're kickin' back a glass of some gin and tonic or lighting up, this is what I mean when I say the 9th Wonder soothes the soul.

Hip Hop: Let's Keep It Real

So these songs might be a little dated, but hell, they keep it real. Take a listen, you'll understand what I mean. Old school flow, upbeat, fun. True to roots type deals.

100/100 - circa 1999ish
Jurassic 5. Masterful lyricists who are committed to their craft. They always chose dope
If this don't make you just feel good, seriously what's wrong with you, man?

100/100
Another classic from J5. Features Dave Matthew Band. Vid's hilarious too!

100/100 - circa 2002

100/100
The intro says it all:
"If-if you are listening to the new Z-Trip album on Hollywood Records, we're here, we're being silly, we got Supernatural, Z-Trip, I'm Murs and I like to have a good time and on Saturday mornings I used to like to get a big, fat bowl of cereal and watch cartoons, motherfucker, and if that-- if you can't relate to this song you're taking this shit too serious. It's hip-hop, man, it's-it's fuckin' fun."
Naw mean?

100/100
Real.

Focus: Dev and the Cataracs.

If you went to school (and partied) with me, you would know that I was blowing up Bass Down Low by Dev ft. the Cataracs last spring. Anyway, she just released an official video a couple of days ago for Bass Down Low and def came out hard with explicit (new?) lyrics. Also, pause at 0:39, cuz you're bound to blow your load. Even if you're a girl. It's been a while since the song's been released, but perhaps this means that she's gearing up for stardom, finally? I can only see FM's G6 fame doing good things for her and the Cataracs, so I hope they do it big. (If you don't know, the Cataracs are behind the beat, and Dev behind the crazy hook.)

100/100

99/100
Ill track. Crazy beat, lovin' the whole vibe.

100/100
Chillin'. Great beat, makes me wanna chill with a fly-ass chick, and fall in puppy love.

98/100
Dirty. Also, they be getting love from some artists like Omarion in this clip.

99/100
Now its time to start turn the BPM up.

100/100
Full blast.

TripHop: Destination Elsewhere

Trip Hop. Have you heard of it? If you haven't, you've most likely heard it, but just didn't know what it was, or even realized you were listening to it. If you've ever watched any sorta trippy movie, I bet there was some trip hop in the background. In short, trip hop is trippy music, but with a heavy hip hop sort of beat. Obviously, it gets deeper than that, but this music is too trippy, I forgot what I was saying.

Anyway, here are a few pieces that I found recently. I wont rate them, as I don't know how much I like them yet.

This one's got a Dubstep kinda feel to it, and awesome for poppers to get gritty to.

Dizz1 - Here We Go Again

This one is pretty self-explanatory: From jackhigh's album "Interplanetary Thoughts".
brilliant
Not all triphop lacks vocals and lyrics, as shown in this masterful track. Dis wan iza BIG CHUNE.

This one has got a more upbeat vibe to it; My homeslice Lamar just sent it over. Dope.

A production by Dr. Dre, featuring the lyrics of Gayle Moran "Do You Ever". A chilling song perfect for the winter. It was also used in the ending credits of the movie War featuring Jet Li.

This song has long been a favorite of mine. It is the ultimate song for relaxing. Somehow everything seems to be in slow motion when I listen to it, kind of like this video.

SuperSloMo Poi (Porcelain by Moby)
